It was founded by Lucien Brand in 1956, Philippe's grandfather. Initially, the company was involved in the cultivation of various crops, with only 1.3 hectares of vineyards. However, over time, the company gradually shifted its focus to viticulture, expanding the vineyards into other areas until 1970.\r\nSubsequently, Charles Brand, Philippe's father, solidified the company's reputation by producing high-quality dry wines that became popular among the local population. In 2001, he revolutionized the production methods, initiating a three-year conversion period and obtaining organic certification for the vineyard.\r\nIn 2006, Philippe joined his father, injecting new dynamism into the company, which was renamed Domaine Brand & Fils. In 2015, the company took a new direction when Philippe decided to embrace biodynamic agriculture. They currently cultivate 10 hectares of vineyards, encompassing all seven typical grape varieties of Alsace. These vineyards are situated on soils composed of clay and limestone, with rows exposed to the south.\r\nThey produce a variety of wines, including Cr\u00e9mants and Vendanges Tardives, as well as terroir-driven wines from the lieu-dit Kefferberg.
