Casa Brecceto Winery
We are on the Apennines in Ariano Irpino between Campania and Puglia, at the same distance from the Tyrrhenian and the Adriatic. Here is the Sella di Ariano, a pass in the Apennines that marks the change, even geological, between the two sides. Borderland for traditions, language and agriculture and always a place of passage in the “land of bone”. Mountain agriculture with vineyards over 700 meters high, temperatures that are always cool in summer and rigid in winter, loose soils with a sandy base and a strong presence of sandstone outcrops and marine deposits.
The idea was born from three enthusiasts, together with the wave of French “Vin de garage”. , the first Pitatza saw the light in 2003 when the Arajani project discovered the magic of pure Aglianico and was fascinated by tradition. In 2007 the Scazzuso was born, stained by the original sin of a clandestine encounter between Aglianico and Lambrusco.
Until 2017 we only produced two wines: Pitatza and Scazzuso.
In 2018, at the eighteenth harvest, Arajani comes of age and takes the name of “Casa Brecceto”. Friends become seven and the project comes out of the cave of ideas to become an adult and grow up in the sunlight.
