Monteforche Winery
The Monteforche winery is located in Zovon di Vo ‘, a small company located within the regional park of the Euganean Hills, where Alfonso Soranzo manages a 4.5 hectare vineyard area located near the Municipality of Vo in the hamlet of Zovon .
Stratifications of volcanic origin with trachyte inserts – effusive magmatic rock with medium silica content – marls and clays to characterize the soils at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level, with rows facing south / west.
The vineyards are conducted in biodynamics and in the cellar the fermentations are all started with indigenous yeasts, with contact on the skins also for the white berried grapes and subsequent refinements on fine lees.
The international grapes Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Carmenére dominate, but we also find native grapes, such as Marzemina Nera Bastarda, Turchetta, Corbinona, Recantina, Pattaresca and Cavrara, which are part of a recovery project of old varieties coordinated by Veneto Agricotura. Among the white berried grapes in addition to Garganega and Moscato Bianco we find Pinot Grigio, Malvasia Istriana, Traminer and Marzemina Bianca.
