Vecchio Poggio Winery
We are in the province of Frosinone exactly on the Island of Liri where Amedeo and Graziella at the end of the 90s bought an old olive grove on a knoll in Isola del Liri, they take care of it with loving patience, revive it, produce oil. A few years later, the dream of making wine pushed them to plant a small vineyard, less than 1000 square meters of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are enthusiastic about it, the energy multiplies and despite the Poggio having a difficult and very rocky soil (the Puddinga), they are committed to planting almost one hectare, they add the Malvasia di Candia and slowly the first harvests arrive.
Strictly organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentations only with slight temperature control. And no clarification and filtration intervention on the wines. The bulk of the work is done in the vineyard by carefully selecting the grapes.
Obviously no synthetic substance has ever been used, it is neither filtered nor treated in any other way, the wines have the grace and delicacy of Graziella’s smile and the good-natured and genuine strength of Amedeo’s face.
