Erbaluce is a versatile white grape from Piedmont’s Caluso region, producing dry, sweet, and sparkling wines under Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG.
Characteristics
The wine has a pale gold color. Aromas of green apple, citrus, and chamomile are accented by herbal notes. On the palate, it is crisp with high acidity and a bitter almond finish.
Pairings
Perfect with risotto alla Milanese, freshwater fish, and Toma Piemontese.
Curiosities
Erbaluce (“herb light”) refers to its herbal aroma. Passito versions (Caluso Passito DOCG) are aged 5+ years.
