Nebbiolo da Subassi is a clonal selection of Nebbiolo grown in Alto Piemonte (Lessona, Bramaterra, Ghemme).
Characteristics
Compared to classic Nebbiolo, it yields more approachable wines with polished tannins and aromas of raspberry, violet, white pepper, and graphite. Bright ruby color and elegant structure with mineral notes from granite soils.
Pairings
Excellent with porcini mushroom risotto, Fassona beef tagliata, or rabbit cooked Piemontese-style.
Curiosities
“Subassi” refers to stony soils where vines dig deep for minerals.
