Tai (or Tai Rosso) is the local name for Schioppettino in Friuli.
Characteristics
The wine has an intense ruby-red color. On the nose, it features wild berries, black pepper, and a smoky note. On the palate, it is structured and spicy, with robust tannins.
Pairings
Ideal with game meats, aged cheeses, and polenta with small birds (polenta e osei).
Curiosities
Nearly extinct in the 1970s, it was revived by Friulian producers who highlighted its unique character.
