Alziati Winery
We are in Scazzolino di Rovescala, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, where the Tenuta San Francesco estate is located, led by Annibale Alziati. The estate spans 10 hectares on the ridges of the hills at an altitude of about 250/300 meters above sea level, with calcareous-clayey soils planted with Croatina, Barbera, and Uva Rara, the base for the famous Bonarda. Natural low yields, due to the age of the vines and the short pruning, the absence of fertilization, spontaneous cover cropping, respect for harvest and processing times, and the manual and traditional winemaking practices, allow the production of rustic wines, whose elegance is expressed through aging in cement tanks and bottle refinement.
