Canlibero Winery
In the picturesque landscape of the Sannio Beneventano, amidst the gentle hills of Torrecuso, stands Cantina Canlibero, a gem of Italian winemaking that embodies passion and innovation in the world of natural wine. Founded in 2011 by Ennio Romano and Mena Iannella, Canlibero is the result of a shared dream to create wines that reflect the authenticity and freedom of the land.
Canlibero’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that wine should be a pure expression of the earth. With only two hectares of vineyards, cultivated using biodynamic methods, the winery is dedicated to producing native varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano, Falanghina, and Trebbiano. The vineyards’ privileged position, at an altitude of 420 meters, and the soil composition favor the cultivation of high-quality grapes that give life to wines with a distinctive character.
In the winery, the vinification follows spontaneous processes, without any filtration until bottling, allowing the wine to express itself in all its naturalness. Ennio and Mena, both from families of winemakers, have chosen to embrace a handcrafted approach, where each bottle is unique and tells the story of a vintage, a land, a vision.
Canlibero’s wines are free from conventional schemes and standards. Each label is a tribute to freedom, also represented by Brando, the winery’s symbol, a dog running unleashed through the vineyards. The selection of wines includes whites, orange wines, rosés, and reds, all characterized by a vitality and energy that capture the essence of Sannio.
Canlibero is not just a winery but a manifesto of how wine can be a blend of art, nature, and culture. Visiting it means embarking on a journey through the flavors and aromas of a land rich in history and tradition, where each sip is an unforgettable experience.
