Terre di Giotto - Michele Lorenzetti
Terre di Giotto is the passion project of Michele Lorenzetti, one of the biodynamic professionals. In the Mugello hills, at the foot of the Tuscan Apennines and not far from Florence, Michele cultivates with rare attention and loving care some old vineyards with local varieties such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Malvasia, and a beautiful vineyard at almost 700 m altitude in between to the woods, which he planted in 2009 with Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Riesling. These French vines in Mugello were not chosen by chance and trace their heritage back to the mid-1800s, when the oenologist Marquis Vittorio degli Albizi began planting them in this terroir which he considered particularly suitable. Michele’s wines pulsate with infinite vitality, ageless complexity and luminous focus.
