A poetic red grape from Marche, named for the “tears” of juice that drip from ripe berries. The wine has a vibrant ruby hue with purple reflections and aromas of blackberry, violet, and pink pepper. Soft tannins make it ideal with cured meats or duck ragù pasta. Fun fact: Vines near the Adriatic Sea thrive in a humid microclimate that enhances roundness. Legend says it was offered to lovers to ensure fidelity.
