Magliocco Dolce, a late-ripening variant of Magliocco, grows in tiny Calabrian plots. Less tannic than its sibling, it offers strawberry jam, cinnamon, and almond finish notes. Traditionally used for passito wines, it’s now vinified dry for elegance. Pair with walnut cake, Gorgonzola Dolce, or honey-glazed pork roast. Grapes are harvested post-autumn fog for sugar concentration. A barrel-aged fortified version resembles Marsala Superiore.
