Malvasia Puntinata, native to Lazio, is named for the white lenticels on its skin. It produces mineral-driven whites with Annurca apple, lemon zest, and sage notes. Often a secret ingredient in Cesanese del Piglio blends. Pair with clams spaghetti, Roman saltimbocca, or fried anchovies. Vines are short-pruned to withstand Castelli Romani winds. “Naturale” sparkling versions have creamy mousse and fresh bread aromas.
