Domaine de la Fessardiere

We are Vallet, in the western part of the Loire Valley, vines planted in the hills on very stony but shallow siliceous-clay soils, the vines are Melon de Bourgogne, an iconic and typical vine of the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine appellation. The winery is led by Jérôme and Emeline. Jérôme who has worked for 10 years in the water and environment sector in France and abroad is now committed to helping the vines to welcome their best and produce a healthy and tasty wine, with innovation and care. Emeline is also an agronomist. He worked for 10 years with NGOs and agro-management consulting firms. Concerns for the environment together and entrepreneurship led Emeline to start this new adventure in Jerome. Active in wine making choices from harvest to aging, she often travels to discover wines in France and around the world.
The winery has been organically run since 1997, chemists are banned from natural methods such as plowing the soil according to traditional methods, fertilizing with compost and observing the vines for pest diseases (e.g. using insect traps), and using natural treatments when necessary copper, plants, clay …).
