Viognier is a white grape variety originating from the Rhône Valley.
Characteristics
The wine has a golden-yellow color. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of peach, apricot, orange blossom, and vanilla. On the palate, it is opulent and velvety, with moderate acidity and a persistent finish.
Pairings
Perfect with grilled lobster, herb-roasted chicken, and spicy dishes like Thai curry.
Curiosities
Nearly extinct in the 1960s, it was saved by producers in Condrieu and is now a symbol of viticultural revival.
