Enoz Winery Masseria Torricella – Il Chaos 2023

Enoz Winery-Masseria Torricella born in 2013 in Sessa Aurunca, in the heart of Campania Felix, specifically in the Ager Falernus, at the foot of the dormant volcanic complex of Roccamonfina. This venture began with the decision to leave Naples, where the producer continues another profession, in search of a less chaotic countryside life, reviving the agricultural traditions of their father and grandfather. The restoration of the Masseria and the planting of the first Primitivo vineyards culminated in the first harvest in 2018. The name “Enoz” is an acronym of Roberto Zeno’s family surname. “Masseria Torricella” takes its name from the property, which remains a countryside farmhouse with an integrated tower in the residence. The ecosystem, protected by the forest and refreshed by the air currents that touch the vineyards, is ideal for maintaining grape health and minimizing external influences. The subsoil composition varies, with clay and very hard rock on one side and sand and volcanic lapilli on the other, overlooking the sea at an altitude of about 260 meters. The main vineyards are situated within a biodiverse environment, surrounded by forests and olive groves, with no immediate neighbors, covering approximately three hectares of the seven-hectare property. Additional plots that complete the estate are located in the municipality of Sessa Aurunca, totaling another four hectares of vineyards. The grape varieties cultivated include Primitivo, Fiano, and Falanghina, with a small percentage of other indigenous grapes such as Greco, Piedirosso, and Aglianico, along with some Traminer Rosa plants. Enoz has been practicing organic farming since its inception, with certification also obtained for biodynamic practices. The winery is located in an existing cave on the property, with a constant temperature of about fifteen to eighteen degrees Celsius throughout the year.
