Matrignano – Ostinato Toscana IGT 2017

Matrignano is an ancient, but modern, family-run company with the philosophy of the natural as a vocation. The vineyards are mainly developed on the southwest side of the farm in an area of ​​six hectares made up of about ten plots diversified by viticultural composition, altitude and age. The vines planted between 1965 and 1969 extend for 3 hectares, follow the old concept and therefore the plant is mixed as required in the specification of the Chianti dei Colli Aretini; the local vines are: Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Trebbiano, Malvasia and Passerina. The whole area of ​​the vineyard is under organic management, the treatments against downy mildew and powdery mildew are based on sulfur, copper and horsetail macerate. All the vineyards follow spurred cordon or guyot training. In the cellar no conventional oenological practice, no added yeast, but only indigenous yeasts, no control of the temperature of the barrels, and reduced use of sulfur dioxide.
