Sergio Arcuri Winery
Sergio Arcuri Winery, located in Cirò Marina, Calabria, is an authentic gem in the world of artisanal organic wines. Founded in 1880 by great-grandfather Peppe, the winery has a history rich in dedication and spirit of sacrifice.
The Cantina has deep roots dating back to 1880. Peppe, with passion and simple agricultural tools, cultivated the land and transported the harvest with horses and donkeys. This tradition continues today with Sergio and his brother Francesco.
Sergio is an expert in Calabrian native grape varieties, particularly Gaglioppo. The exclusive vineyards produce high-quality grapes, giving life to authentic and distinctive wines. The winery follows an organic approach, respecting life and natural cycles. Fermentation takes place in open tanks, called “palmenti,” thanks to the natural yeasts present on the grapes.
- No addition of chemical substances or flavorings.
- Manual pruning and suckering.
- Personal cultivation without synthetic chemicals.
- Exclusion of herbicides and pesticides.
- Manual harvesting of healthy grapes.
- Maximum attention in the selection of vineyards and harvest time.
- Maturation of wines on fine lees.
The sediments at the bottom of the bottles are indicators of authenticity. Sergio believes that wine should be a healthy food that is good for both health and spirit.
