Agricolae is a celebration of pure Barbera, the most beloved and widespread grape variety in Piedmont, interpreted here in its most authentic and sincere form. Maceration of about 3 weeks in steel, spontaneous fermentation without selected yeasts, and aging for 9 months in steel. No microfiltration, no fining, and minimal added sulfites. The result is a deep red wine with a fruity, full nose and a typically remarkable body, yet with a surprising freshness and pleasant drinkability.

Serving temperature 18° – 20° C
Production Area Alfiano Natta (AL), Piedmont
Soil Calcareous-silty
Vinification 3-week maceration in steel
Aging 9 months in steel.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Bright and luminous ruby red color, brilliant and transparent, typical of pure vinified Barbera.
  • Nose: The olfactory profile is fruity and full. Hints of ripe red fruit (cherry, black cherry, wild strawberry), small purple flowers (sweet violet), and a delicate mineral note that adds depth emerge. An intense and enveloping bouquet.
  • Palate: The entry is fresh and very pleasant, with a remarkable body well-balanced by a lively acidity. Tannins are present but silky, well-integrated into the structure. The finish is harmonious and persistent, with fruity echoes and a clean, savory closure. A wine of great balance and personality, combining power and drinkability.

Recommended Pairings

Perfect with meat-based first and second courses, cured meats, sausage, grilled red meats, and roasts. Also excellent with medium-aged cheeses and traditional Piedmontese cuisine (brasato, bollito misto). A versatile wine, suitable for the entire meal, which enhances the authentic flavors of the table.

Why choose it

Because it is Barbera in its most sincere and enjoyable form. Because it combines the remarkable body and typical structure of the variety with a freshness and drinkability that few reds can offer. Perfect for those seeking an authentic wine, far from trends and superstructures, capable of delivering simple yet profound emotions. A wine that is a pure expression of the Piedmontese territory, to be enjoyed on any occasion.
