Thres Sommelier is a wine created to tell a story, a way of working, a philosophy. It is the “simplest” wine—the one that brings everyone together, from enthusiasts to novices, from sommeliers to Sunday drinkers. A red blend of Barbera, Uva Rara, and Croatina from a single recovered mixed old vineyard, where the percentages are unknown and perhaps don’t even matter. One night of skin contact, followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts only, racking according to natural rhythms, and 9 months of rest between steel and amphorae. No fining, no invasive filtration, sulfur kept to the absolute minimum. The result is a living, textural, authentic wine that doesn’t seek immediate applause but rather depth.

Serve at 14° – 16° C
Production Area Montecalvo Versiggia, Oltrepò Pavese, Lombardy
Vineyard Altitude About 400 m a.s.l.
Soil Clay-limestone
Vinification One night on the skins. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts.
Aging 9 months between steel and amphorae.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Bright ruby red color with violet reflections, lively and luminous.
  • Nose: The olfactory profile is fresh and inviting. Notes of small red fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry, currant) emerge, along with wildflowers and an herbaceous undertone reminiscent of the scrub. Barbera provides freshness and acidity, Croatina gives structure and spice, and Uva Rara adds finesse and elegance. A bouquet that changes, breathes, and moves.
  • Palate: The entry is juicy and enveloping, with a delicate and silky tannic texture. The acidity is vibrant and supports the sip with elegance, offering a freshness that enhances the crispness of the fruit. The finish is clean and sapid, with a closure that invites a second glass. A red of great drinkability and personality that pleases everyone.

Recommended Pairings

Perfect for daily conviviality. Ideal with traditional first courses (pasta with meat sauce, lasagna), grilled white and red meats, cured meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Excellent also with pizzas, focaccias, and all informal cuisine. A wine for the people, a joy for all, that brings harmony to every table.

Why Choose It

Because in a world of increasingly complex and expensive wines, Thres Sommelier puts drinkability, sincerity, and sharing back at the center. It is for those seeking an authentic red that tastes of wine, of the earth, of artisanal work. For those who want to open a bottle without overthinking it, yet find in their hands a wine that has much to say. A living, textural, authentic wine that changes, breathes, and moves.
